Pure Storage has rolled out a suite of new cloud offerings that it says bridges the "divide" between on-premise and public cloud storage.
Pure Storage Cloud Data Services run on AWS, and offer a single storage architecture that the flash storage vendor said unifies application deployments both on-premise and in the cloud.
According to Pure, the "modern hybrid cloud" solution is important for the channel as it gives partners "the freedom to create an environment that best suits the needs and drivers of the organization."
"Channel partners play a vital role in helping customers identify, design and deploy these environments - and act as the bridge. This suite of updates will allow resellers to offer a solution that will help customers modernize their infrastructure, and ensure that their architecture is truly data centric," Matthieu Brignone, Pure's head of EMEA channel and alliances, said in an interview with Channelnomics.
"This announcement presents a real opportunity for channel partners to work as true business partners, helping guide customers on their digital transformation journey," Brignone claimed.
The firm argues that modern organizations need real-time access "to any and all data", which requires applications to move freely between on-premise and the cloud, but too often customers are often forced to choose between them.
"Today, there exists a cloud divide - the cloud is not purpose-built for enterprise applications, and enterprise infrastructure isn't as user-friendly as the cloud, Charles Giancarlo, Chairman and CEO, Pure Storage, said in a statement.
"Customers should be able to make infrastructure choices based on what's best for their environment, not constrained by what the technology can do or where it lives," the CEO added. "Today's announcement extends Pure's data centric architecture to the cloud, allowing our customers to build hybrid applications that provide true mobility and freedom."
The vendors also said that its recent acquisition of cloud-native deduplication technology StorReduce can provide cloud backup to AWS S3 storage, in conjunction with on-premise flash for fast recovery.
