Company wants to be one-stop shop for MSP cloud solutions
Pax8 is building out its nascent market development team with the group’s first four members, who will work to make the company a one-stop shop for cloud solutions for MSPs and other channel players.
The Lowdown: The announcement Tuesday of the new members of the team comes two months after Andrew Pryfogle was named chief market development officer in a bid to take advantage of the convergence of the MSP and telecommunications channels to extend the Colorado-based company’s IT distribution reach into the network and unified communications (UC) markets.
The Details: The new team members are being tasked with leveraging their telco and IT channel expertise to create new programs and strong alliances with vendors and partners as part of Pax8’s larger convergence strategy.
> Samantha Nelson, vice president of channel development: She most recently was senior director of channels at Talkdesk, a cloud-based vendor of contact center and artificial intelligence (AI) software. At Pax8, she’s being asked to expand agent and MSP portfolios around UC-as-a-Service (UCaaS), Contact Center-as-a-Service, software-defined WAN, infrastructure, and connectivity tools.
> Jessica Maria, vice president of market development: Her role will be creating new market opportunities for the company, including development programs, educational efforts, and marketing initiatives. Maria previously led marketing and cloud service teams as director of marketing at Intelisys, a distributor and master agent for telco, carrier, and cloud services.
> Danielle DeCosta, vendor success manager: Another veteran of Intelisys, DeCosta will manage relationships with new vendors at Pax8, as well as develop strategies around vendors and help build go-to-market strategies.
> Ryan Strouse, program manager: He will create partner enablement programs, work with the vendor marketing team on new programs, and track campaign results. Strouse also comes from Intelisys, where he was marketing supervisor.
Nelson and Maria will report to Pryfogle, while DeCosta and Strouse will report to Maria.
Background: Pax8 has more than two-dozen vendor partners that span the cloud space, from infrastructure (Microsoft Azure and Wasabi), productivity (Microsoft and BitTitan), continuity (Veeam and StorageCraft), and security (Proofpoint, Symantec, and Webroot).
The Buzz: “We’re excited to bring on four dynamic industry experts who will be dedicated to facilitating channel convergence at Pax8,” Pryfogle said. “Their cumulative, expansive telecommunications and IT channel experience will enable them to establish groundbreaking programs, deep vendor and partner relationships, and disruptive go-to-market strategies. Through these efforts, Pax8 will become the one-stop shop for cloud solutions, whether a partner identifies as an MSP or an agent, or as another classification entirely.”
“Convergence is happening, and Pax8 is right at the center of it,” Nelson said. “I’m always drawn to disrupters, and Pax8 is truly changing the way distribution works. I’m excited to help MSPs and agents expand their portfolio offerings and capture their growing share of customers’ technology spend.”
“Pax8 has an incomparable platform in place that has enabled thousands of MSPs to go to market faster and better than they ever could before,” Maria said. “As a born-in-the-cloud distributor, we’re providing partners from both the agent and IT channel the ability to transact, consume, and support more efficiently in the new age of convergence.”
