Cohesity joins Cisco’s SolutionsPlus Program to give hyperconverged partners and customers a single source for secondary storage solutions
Cohesity, a market leader in secondary storage for hyperconverged networks, joined the Cisco SolutionsPlus program, enabling Cisco sales and partners to sell its backup and recovery products in conjunction with unified computing solutions.
The Lowdown: By joining the Cisco SolutionsPlus program and adding its products to the Cisco Global Price list, Cohensity is unlocking a potentially expansive route to market by making its products available directly to Cisco’s inside sales and partners. The two companies say the teaming agreement means partners and customers can acquire more complete unified computing systems that include secondary storage and recovery capabilities.
The Details: The two companies say their union through the SolutionsPlus program comes at a time when demand is increasing for more manageable storage solutions for hyperconverged infrastructures. According to Cohesity, the secondary data and apps technology segment is a $60 million market opportunity.
The Impact: Cisco has more than 55,000 customers using unified computing solutions, giving Cohesity a massive installed base to which to market its products. The SolutionsPlus program means Cohensity will leverage Cisco’s much larger direct-sales and partner network to carry its products to market. And being on the Cisco Global Price List means Cohensity customers will have a simpler time accessing complementary hyperconverged and storage products.
The Buzz: “We are excited to take our relationship with Cohesity to reseller status with Cisco’s world-class go-to-market capabilities,” said Vijay Venugopal, senior director of product management for Hyperflex at Cisco. “Through the new solution, Cisco and Cohesity can offer the entire data stack for both primary and secondary data in an integrated architecture, which unlocks amazing new opportunities for customers.”
“At Trace3, we take pride in introducing our customers to disruptive technology and bringing Cohesity solutions to enterprises as one of the first Cohesity channel partners,” said Kristin Struttmann, vice president of the partner organization at Trace3. “With Cohesity joining the Cisco SolutionsPlus program, we can deliver an innovative Cohesity and Cisco hyperconverged solution more quickly and simply for the benefit of our enterprise customers.”
“The elevated partnership between Cisco and Cohesity will offer enterprise-critical applications seamless protection based on modern backup technology,” said Steven Hill, senior analyst at 451 Research. “This new, jointly certified solution will be available directly from Cisco and its worldwide network of partners, and will immediately expand Cohesity’s global reach into large enterprises while enriching Cisco’s data protection portfolio.”
