Vendor provides top-tier partners with hefty margins on display and accessory products, seeks to stimulate growth through channel

HP launched its first-ever profitability accelerator for displays and accessories sold by top-tier partners in the United States as it seeks to stimulate sales and growth through the channel.
The Lowdown: Platinum and Gold PC partners in the HP Partner First Program are eligible for higher incentives on sales of PC displays and other accessories. HP says that, in many cases, partners could see double the margins and rewards for selling displays — particularly when attached to PC sales.
The Details: HP is making new tools and resources available to partners to sell commercial displays and accessories for commercial desktop PCs, notebooks, detachable computers, and workstations. The accelerator initiative is an extension of the existing Partner First program, through which reseller partners can access sales and marketing tools.
Background: HP and other PC vendors saw sales decline in 2018, due largely to increasing economic headwinds and shortfalls in processor inventories at Intel. HP has always sold displays through partners, but many partners — particularly on the SMB level — will sell third-party displays and accessories with PC hardware.
The Buzz: “HP is always keeping a close eye on trends and opportunities that will drive profitable growth for our channel partners,” said Gary Simms, HP’s head of AMS channel programs and enablement. “We’re excited to offer this new accelerator as we double down on displays and accessories in the U.S. while partners take advantage of incredible opportunities fueled by current market conditions.”
